WE OFFER BLOOD PRESSURE SCREENINGS at the church every 2nd Sunday of the month from 8:15 - 11:30 am in the narthex. Members of the Health Ministry team will be available to assess your blood pressure and to discuss the results with you.
THE HEALTH MINISTRY TEAM is planning a Health Fair on September 27, 2008. There will be an opportunity to give blood during the Health Fair. This is the Saturday of the CUMC Fish Fry. Mark your calendars now. We have several exhibitors who we hope you will enjoy. This will be family centered with info for children, parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents. “First Steps” will be here and a table for children and health screenings (at no charge) for adults with other resource exhibitors. FLU SHOTS will be given in the parlor on Sunday, October 19, 2008 from 9:30-11:30 am. The public is welcome. Some of you like to get your flu shots earlier than October, but it is best to wait. A flu shot last from 3-4 months. If you receive yours in September it is losing its ability to reduce or avoid the flu by the time the flu season in Indiana starts. February/March are the main months for flu in Indiana with some incidents on either side of these months. THE VNS (VISITING NURSES) were here in October 2007 to give flu shots. The "flu shot clinic" has been a great service to our church and community.
