CUMC is a staging site for the UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief) FLOOD BUCKET COLLECTION. These supplies enable people to begin the overwhelming job of cleaning up after a flood or hurricane. We have "shoppers" at CUMC who will purchase the items for you, if you are unable to. The approximate cost of a Flood Bucket is $45.00. Make checks out to Christ United Methodist Church and memo it for "Flood Buckets". Flood Buckets may be brought to the north end of the building.

Office Hours are 8 am - 5 pm Monday through Thursday and 8 am - 12 n on Friday. Please call the church 882-1549 if you are bringing a large load of buckets and if you will be bringing them after 5:00 pm to help us prepare for you. Thank you.

Important Kit Assembly Information

All items included in kits must be NEW items
All emergency kits are carefully planned to make them usable in the greatest number of situations. It is important that kits contain only the requested items - nothing more.
Do NOT include any personal notes, money or additional materials in the kits. These things must be painstakingly removed and will delay the shipment.

NOTE: If the requested item size is not available, go down to the next available size. If nothing is available in the requested or smaller size, put masking tape on the outside of the bucket saying, "This bucket contains no ________."

5-gallon bucket with re-sealable lid
Bleach (two 1-quart or one 82 oz. bottle)
5 Scouring pads
7 Sponges
1 Scrub brush
18 Cleaning towels (reusable wipes)
Liquid laundry detergent (two 25 oz. or one 50 oz. bottle)
1 household cleaner, 12-16 oz. bottle
Disinfectant dish soap, 16-28 oz. bottle
50 clothes pins
Clothes line (two 50 ft. or one 100 ft.)
5 Dust masks
2 Pair latex gloves
1 Pair work gloves
24-bag roll of heavy-duty trash bags, 33-45 gallon (remove roll from box before placing in bucket)
1 Insect repellant spray, 6-14 oz. (if aerosol, must have protective cap)
1 Air freshener, 8 or 9 oz. (if aerosol, must have protective cap)

PROMOTION SUNDAY...2nd GRADE BIBLE...EDUCATOR RECOGNITION

will be Sunday, August 24. We will have a short Promotion Ceremony with cookies and punch in the annex during the Sunday School hour. During all services we will be presenting second grade Bibles. There will be a short standing recognition of all teachers in our programs, as well as, others in the education field. We look forward to recognizing education and all educators.

The CUMC Food Pantry

Our CUMC Food Pantry is open every Thursday morning from 10:00 am-12:00 noon. The Food Pantry workers and those we serve are very thankful for your food gifts.

Items can be brought to the church office anytime during the week or left at the Welcome Center on Sunday mornings. Here is the list of items we stock:
